Episode 784: “Through the Storm” – Bridget Faces Public Backlash Amid Liam’s Crimes
In Episode 784 of Through the Storm, the world
reels as the devastating truth about Liam’s criminal activities spreads online.
Public discourse erupts, and Bridget—Liam’s estranged daughter—finds herself at
the heart of a media storm. Sympathy is scarce as many online users blame her
by association, while others cruelly suggest she’s not so different from her
father. As a result, Bridget's career in the entertainment industry seems
irreparably damaged, and she fears tarnishing the reputations of Richard
and Eric, who have long supported her.
After her police station interview, Bridget bravely faces
the victims' grieving families, offering a heartfelt apology: “I don’t want
or expect you to forgive my father, but I want to apologize for any actions I
have done that contributed to the situation.” But the apology only
intensifies the anger. Some family members approach her with hostility,
prompting Richard to intervene. Shielding Bridget, he declares her a victim
too, revealing how her father manipulated her into giving him money under false
pretenses.
Richard whisks Bridget away, and they ride in tense silence,
with Natalie at the wheel. During the ride, Bridget shocks Richard by
announcing her decision to end both their romantic relationship and
professional contract. Feeling ashamed and burdened by her father’s crimes,
she believes her public image is ruined and insists on stepping away from the
limelight entirely. She expresses her desire to leave the country with her
mother, Eliza, and live anonymously abroad. Richard is devastated but respects
her wishes when she remains firm.
Natalie stops the car at Richard's request, and he exits
without a word. Natalie confronts Bridget, asking why she’s pushing him away,
but Bridget simply sobs, burdened by guilt. She knows Richard sacrificed
immensely for her—including giving Liam a significant amount of money to
supposedly help a sick child. Bridget fears the truth could destroy Richard’s
reputation if people discovered the money funded criminal activities. Determined
to protect him, she chooses to carry the blame alone.
At home, Bridget breaks down in Eliza’s arms,
heartbroken and disillusioned. Eliza reassures her that they will protect Eric
and Emma from the fallout and praises her daughter's strength in making such a
difficult decision.
Meanwhile, Richard returns to the police station,
determined to understand the sudden change in Bridget's attitude. During
questioning, it dawns on him that she’s trying to shield him from the
consequences of transferring money to Liam. He explains to the police that the
transfer was made in good faith, under the belief that it was for medical
treatment, not to fund crimes. Afterward, he sets out to gather more
information about the victims, vowing to protect both Bridget and Eliza from
Liam’s legacy.
Elsewhere, Emma and Eric learn about the unfolding crisis
and immediately return to New York, sensing the need to stand by Bridget during
this critical time.

Episode 785: “Real World Repercussions” – Bridget and Eliza Face Public Wrath
In Episode 785 of Through the Storm, the
fallout from Liam’s horrific crimes intensifies as Bridget and Eliza
struggle to move forward amidst a wave of public outrage. Having returned
to New York, Emma and Eric immediately express a desire to speak with Bridget.
However, Bridget and her mother are intentionally avoiding them, desperate to
protect their loved ones from further involvement in the scandal.
Emma visits Richard’s apartment and finds him alone, visibly
heartbroken and drinking—an unusual sight for the normally composed producer.
The apartment still bears the traces of his relationship with Bridget, making
the emotional distance even more painful. When Emma jokes about his breakup,
Richard doesn’t deny his pain but explains that he understands Bridget’s
decision: “She’s trying to protect me.” He admits that he mishandled the
situation and feels partially responsible.
In a moment of vulnerability, Richard confesses that he
doesn’t want Bridget to quit acting unless it’s truly her choice, not a
decision forced by public shame. Emma reminds him of how much Bridget has
grown, thanks in part to his mentorship and belief in her. Inspired, she
promises to get Eric involved and to locate Bridget and Eliza so they can offer
proper support. “She shouldn’t be the one hiding,” Emma declares before
leaving.
At the same time, Bridget and Eliza are enduring cruel
public judgment. News breaks identifying the two individuals Liam killed,
one of whom was the son of a powerful New York government official. The loss is
personal and political, fueling media frenzy. Eliza and Bridget, hoping to take
responsibility in the only way they can, attempt to visit the victims' families
and offer condolences. However, their good intentions are met with cold
rejection—doors are slammed in their faces, and their efforts are seen
as performative rather than sincere.
Their visit to the hospital to see the severely injured
young man—also one of Liam’s victims—goes even worse. Surrounded by protective
loved ones, the young man lies bandaged and unconscious. His family has invited
a news crew to film the visit, clearly expecting a spectacle. When Bridget
and Eliza present gifts and express sympathy, the victim’s mother lashes out in
front of the cameras:
“Did you think buying a few gifts and apologizing would fix anything?”
she sneers.
She then turns to the media, proclaiming: “Look at your precious actress.
The daughter of a murderer. The whole family should suffer the way we are.”
Remaining composed, Eliza calmly clarifies that they’re
not there to beg for forgiveness, only to show their support and sorrow.
But the emotional abuse overwhelms both mother and daughter, and just as the
situation spirals further, Richard storms into the hospital room.
Richard publicly defends Bridget, declaring that she
bears no responsibility for the crimes of a man who abandoned her as a child. “She
has no reason to take responsibility for someone else’s actions,” he says
firmly, crossing his arms in defiance. The victim’s mother tries to continue
blaming Bridget, but Richard shuts down the accusations with conviction.
Outside, Luc arrives to escort the shaken trio—Richard,
Bridget, and Eliza—back to Emma and Eric’s apartment, signaling a reunification
of their inner circle during a time of immense crisis.
